Spider-Man 3 Set Photo Reveals Filming Has Begun In NYC

Spider-Man star Tom Holland has been shunning the public for several months due to his busy schedule, but it was recently confirmed that production has begun in July. Spider-Man 3 is expected to be produced in New York City, with previous reports suggesting production will begin in 2021. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said the date of the film was already known, explaining: ‘We know we would have liked it to be in the 2020s. [Sources: 2, 8, 12, 13]

It was originally planned to be shown in UK and US cinemas, but now we have a bit more information about it. Production on the untitled Spider-Man 3 is rumoured to begin in January 2021, with filming set to begin on October 16. A script note indicating that Spider-Man 3 will be in the works was also seen in New York City, suggesting it may be the first time we’ll see him on set since the film’s theatrical release in July 2016. A photo of Tom Holland’s character Peter Parker also makes the rounds on social media, suggesting he is working on his latest project. [Sources: 0, 3, 6, 7]

If the new shooting announcement plastered in New York is to be believed, it is only a matter of time before substantial information about the project comes out. If the latest filming is to begin in New York, it is likely to be released later this year, with filming set to begin on October 16, 2021. If the latest reports of new filmed messages plastered in New Orleans and other parts of North America appear on the Topps Entertainment website, and if they are true, that could happen at any time until the release of Spider-Man 3. It could be a Spider-Man villain getting his own movie in 2021, like Morbius, but one that’s actually connected to the MCU, and that’s a big thing. As filming is now beginning, we should start seeing more set pictures very soon, so stay tuned. There’s only one Marvel movie left for Tom Holland and it will be Spider-Man 3, but since this would have been an opportunity for Marvel Studios to work with Sony Pictures on a movie in which he will star, we’ll get a better idea of whether it’s something bigger or not. Spider-Man 3 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 17 and filming has already begun. Until the film’s theatrical release, we should not see any more setting images. [Sources: 2, 4, 9]

The story of Spider-Man 3 will potentially raise many questions, such as how Spider-Man will Man and Peter will deal with the fact that their identities are revealed and how the film will tie in with the sequel to the Spider-Man franchise. We’re not sure how it will be connected to that, but we’ll find out soon, so we can only guess that it will be revived from the cliffhanger ending we saw in Spider-Man. [Sources: 2, 4]

In addition, Spider-Man 3 will use innovative new technology that requires the cast to be scanned into a VFX system during production and add makeup, costumes and other looks to appear as characters. The main action is filmed in New York City, with the footage of the crowd on location in and around New Jersey, while the interior shots are shot in the newly created Times Square. Second, the production team designed two costumes, one for each of the film’s main characters and the second for Peter Parker and his family. [Sources: 1, 3]

The scene set on the spur was shot in an abandoned East New York tunnel, and the second unit at work is supposed to pick up where we left off from Far Home, which ended on a cliffhanger in a city that never sleeps. When Peter leaves Spur, he and his family are in the middle of a scene when he returns to his home in New Jersey. [Sources: 1, 3]

The sign is likely a sign that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are starting shooting in New York City for the first time since the release of Far Home. It is not the first time that this place has been used for a film with the wall car. [Sources: 5]

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are in talks to star in Spider-Man 3, but apart from Foxtel’s return, the studio is said to be working on a number of other actors for the sequel, including Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans. In addition to his role as a web-colored superhero, FoxX will also play a supervillain in the film, according to the New York Times. The plot of Spiderman 3 is absolutely crazy and they will return to Peter Parker and his location for the first time since his return as Spider Man. [Sources: 11, 12]

Since then, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man 2 have been headlined by Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Robert Downey Jr as the villainous Electro. [Sources: 10]
