Rainfall across California moves into Midwest, will turn snowstorm by Tuesday evening

A storm is moving towards central and southern California which will turn into a snowstorm in the middle of the country by midweek. This system will first bring huge rain and high-elevation snow to parts of California through Monday night. From late Monday to Tuesday, the storm will turn into snow in the Southwest, central and northern plains.

Also on Monday night, the rain will move towards the southern plains. Almost by Tuesday evening, the edge of the system and snow will move towards the Great Lakes region. Moreover, on Tuesday night, rain/ freezing rain will start in the central plains and in the parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley. The snow will measure 4 to 6 inches with isolated 8inches over the different parts of the Midwest.

The snow and freezing rain will give rise to hazardous driving conditions. Well, the heaviest is expected as the storm passes the Great Basin and the central Rockies. Snowfall wholes are expected to reach between 12 and 24 inches by Tuesday night.
