Google India announces the second batch of its Startup School will begin on July 11

Indian regulator fines Google spherical $162 million for anti-competitive practices

The second iteration of Startup School 2023, sponsored by Startup India and featuring more than 30 experts in an eight-week virtual programme for 30,000 Indian businesses, has been announced by Google India.

The second iteration of Google India’s virtual programme Startup School 2023, which supports and empowers startups in India, has been launched. The programme, which is sponsored by the government’s Startup India initiative, will start on July 11 and last for eight weeks. Over 30 Google and business experts will be featured.

According to a blog post by Google, more than 14,000 entrepreneurs from more than 600 Indian towns and cities took part in Startup School’s first edition, which was introduced last year. The program’s success demonstrated the necessity of establishing channels by which founders from non-metropolitan areas may access the skills and experience of seasoned business owners and their teams, the organisation noted.

Participants of the first edition provided testimonials that illustrated the program’s influence on their businesses. By utilising Google Analytics best practises, Gaurav Sen of Interview Ready said that their platform for interview preparation had a 2X increase in paying customers.

Insights from business professionals on how to scale a business for a specific audience, according to Supriya Parashar of Skillster Employability Solutions, were the reason for the 10X increase in users. An 8X boost in quarterly income for their hyperlocal app was the outcome, according to Anil Balan from Lookodu, who also emphasised how Startup School gave product frameworks and insights on new user acquisition methods.

According to Google, Startup India, which is actively involved in curriculum design and outreach, is partnering with this year’s Startup School. Topics like AI, product and tech strategy, marketing and global expansion, and funding and leadership will all be covered in the course material. According to Google, the plan seeks to reach 30,000 entrepreneurs and give them the skills and information they need to develop ethically and pick up best practises at scale.

The Google Startup School 2023 was officially launched by Manmeet K. Nanda, Joint Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

It gives me a great deal of pleasure to introduce the Google Startup School 2023, which is backed by Startup India and DPIIT. India started its startup journey with the vision set forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January 2016 with the inauguration of the Startup India programme.  In order to support companies at scale through this programme, Startup India and Google have joined forces with the joint goal of fostering entrepreneurship in the nation, Nanda said.

Sessions led by well-known business executives are on the Startup School 2023 schedule. The use of data and the deployment of cloud services will be covered by Bikram Bedi, managing director of Google Cloud India. The government assistance programmes accessible to business owners will be discussed by Aastha Grover, Vice President of Invest India and Head of Startup India at DPIIT.

Ashish Kashyap, the founder and CEO of Indmoney, will discuss product management for startups while Vani Kola, the managing director of Kalaari Capital, will discuss leadership techniques for successful founders.

Other speakers include Shuvi Shrivastava, Partner at Lightspeed; Ajey Gore, Operating Partner-Technology at PeakXV India & SEA; Nitin Kamath, Founder and CEO of Zerodha; Sanjeev Barnwal, Founder and CTO of Meesho; Gayatri Yadav, Chief Marketing Officer of Peak XV Partners; and Afsar Ahmad, Co-founder of Gameberry Labs.

Registration for the programme is currently open for startup leaders willing to benefit from seasoned entrepreneurs’ experiences and learn how to create successful enterprises.
