Announcement: Amazon to declare measures to support SMBs amid Covid-19 surge

On Saturday Amazon India declared a directory of measures which includes waiver in various fees paid by sellers to help small and medium businesses amid the severe covid-19 pandemic across the nation. 

The new major includes that it is waiving 50% of the seller on Amazon for referral fee from 1st May to 31st. Moreover, it will also reimburse storage fees and long-term storage fees charged for keeping seller’s products at its warehouses for merchants based out on nonserviceable pin codes. 

The recent blog post says- we understand this situation is impacting small and medium businesses the most and we are taking a host of measures to help ourselves navigate the economic changes caused by the pandemic. 

The company is also taking steps across the board to mitigate any negative impact on sellers’ performance metrics due to any faults and the resulting restrictions or on account of their health. 

The giant also stated that it is temporarily relaxing the claim Windows for several types of reimbursements that the sellers file for 30 days. 

The company also works on its policies regarding late shipment rate order cancellation and returns to better support their sellers during tough times. 

This decision has been taken as many of the states have announced lockdown curfews used to tackle the whole scenario which is impacting businesses drastically.
