India’s anti-horror company arrests 8 ISIS operatives, seizes explosive raw offers, weapons

The National Investigation Company (NIA) on Monday (Dec 18) implemented raids at 19 areas across four Indian states in reference to the ISIS network and busted a “extremely radicalised jihadi horror community.”

The anti-horror company arrested eight operatives of the banned horror outfit’s Ballari module, alongside side its chief Minaz foiling plans by the accused to enact horror assaults, and IED blasts.

The searches also resulted in the seizure of explosive raw offers, corresponding to sulphur, potassium nitrate, charcoal, gunpowder, sugar and ethanol, intelligent-edged weapons, unaccounted cash, documents exposing horror plans, alongside with smartphones and other digital devices.

The 19 areas, where the raids had been done, incorporated Ballari and Bengaluru in Karnataka, Amaravati, Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra, Jamshedpur and Bokaro in Jharkhand and Delhi.

As per the preliminary probes by NIA, the accused had planned on the insist of explosive raw offers for the fabrication of IEDs that were to be deployed for enticing in assaults.

Radicalisation of prisoners

This comes a day after NIA raided more than one areas across Bengaluru, Karnataka, in a case related to the radicalisation of prisoners by a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist.

Six areas, alongside side the properties of four accused, one amongst whom is light absconding, had been extensively searched within the case closing week, on Dec 13, as part of the anti-horror company’s continuing investigations into the case.

The raids had been done on the premises of Mohammed Umar, Mohammed Faisal Rabbani, Tanveer Ahmed and Mohammed Farooq, apart from absconder Junaid Ahmed. Three accused are at this time absconding within the case, registered below a style of sections of IPC, the UA(P) Act, 1967 and the Explosive Substances Act, 1884.
